About Us!

Protective Mother's Justice is a Non for Profit Domestic Violence and DCS organization open to Ladies including Mothers with children serving the greater Coconino County area while expanding throughout Arizona.   Our reason for existence is to establish this domestic violence/ DCS services organization by doing the necessary research that enhances the triggers that cause Domestic Violence, from anger outrage, control, insecurity possessiveness, assertiveness leading to homicide, suicide and begin immediately educating young men & women at an early age that affects them through their young adult life while creating resources to stop stress, anger and learned behaviors.  Who are we? We are Protective Mothers who band together with determination to ensure future generations succeed at rehabilitation from the mental, physical and emotional trauma they endured, versus a victim returning to their abuser and becoming a statistic because of feeling a lack of hope from trying to get away.  Determined to exceed any expectations of any doubt that a client, advocate, grantor, community, investor or anyone might have. Willing to go above & beyond there is no hurdle we won't jump, mountain we won't climb, victim we won't accept, or challenge we won't take on. It is our strength in this field to take a victim who's been severely abused or victimized by the system and turn that Mom into a survivor, no longer broken or terrified but a fighter for her own freedom from the physical, mental and emotional challenges she has had to face along with proper planning of a case plan for her child (ren).  We strongly aim not to just rehabilitate our victims, but to stop the aggression of Domestic Violence through education while implementing laws, raising awareness, listening to what methods have failed in the past and turning around the system.  Our system currently just can't protect these poor women & children, they are being separated while being emotionally abused by DCS & The Judicial System who currently feels a Mother is pulling out the secret DV card as a defense because there are no prior police reports or 9-1-1 calls.  When indeed a victim who is tormented, beaten and locked up cannot call 9-1-1 because she is threatened with death or torment of her and their children.  Some Mom's have been so beaten down their self esteem is at an all time low as their abuser has convinced the victim that no one will believe them or take them seriously.  The typical abuser will put on the great guy, all American Dad and husband act to ensure the victims failure in reporting.  DCS has caused emotional separation and trauma to several innocent families because of false reporting due to lack of evidence or sufficient bonuses given to a worker.  Our full intention is to reform the social workers into family rehabilitation versus separation and severance of parental rights leading to adoption of many innocent families being ripped apart.

The Organization was founded by Carrie Gummow after a group of protective mothers failed at a vision they had. Carrie who has exceptional practical management and business experience of 28 years decided to lead while succeeding the organization making sure the dream lived on.  Her ambition was driven from fallen Mothers & advocates whose hopes were destroyed by personal experiences through a failed system.  To not let fallen angels be forgotten but to have their memory be remembered for their bravery and bring justice to them.  Carrie is very inspired while being passionate about always letting them be a special part of the organization by being remembered for their consistency of bravery even though they have earned their wings.  Their voices will be heard through Protective Mother's Justice, their stories will be told and their dreams will live on to save children, reunite families and change the course of the past to create the history of the future.

Carrie is currently working on assembling a team of strong Advocates and Professionals to offer the most updated, efficient, founded and successful programs to better serve and produce exceptional outcomes for their clients.

Our activities Director & Fundraising Coordinator, Jeff Miller has been added to our team to ensure the success of our foundation for both clients and financial purposes. Jeff comes to us with 30 years experience and brings his expertise along with electrical, plumbing and corrections with security.  Gail Van Deurzen who is our Community outreach for Munds Park, AZ currently handles communications & acceptance of donations including community support  while also heading up our " Binkies for Babies " blanket program.

We are excited to have a team of retired law enforcement, military & corrections who serve as our volunteer security for events & transport. Rick Van Deurzen offers his expertise with a military background in special operations & security while John Gummow comes to us with a corrections background while offering his services to help Protective Mother's Justice with maintenance, client transport, weekly donation deliveries and security during events including high risk transports of emergency relocations. Wes Deam our community support, Craig Whitaker retired law enforcement security and Jane Miller who will offer her services as an instructor in Life Skills.  The importance of community support comes from our " Bread Of Life Program" that is directed and delivered by Dale Ingram a retired firefighter Chief who supports our program by delivering Wild Flower bread on Thursdays to PMJ.

Carrie expects to run a very tight structured program that will include  life skill classes from budgeting to cooking & baking lessons. Some of the classes will include life skills of making soap, laundry soap and other essentials from scratch.  Most often victims lack many skills from the control of the abuser who mentally and emotionally convince their victims that they are worthless and incapable of anything, so it is very important for our clients to receive quality re- programming & rehabilitation. An added bonus to our program will be a massage therapist who will join us a few times a month to pamper our Moms.

Amongst the many services we offer that make our organization driven to stay above any other. We offer our Ladies and Mothers with children  Family services that include counseling, support groups, birthday program partnered with the candle wish foundation, bread of life, Binkies for Babies, emergency bags, self defense, life skills , food boxes, Angel program, Easter Bunny baskets, self reliance and rehabilitation.

Carrie is most passionate about leading Protective Mother's Justice into the future of success impacting a world record of succeeding in lowering the ratios of victims, fallen angels and generations to come.  Carrie would like her mission and vision to live on many years from now making Protective Mother's Justice the top leading organization in hopes that she can encourage other Non profits, shelters, organizations and the Judicial System to share the same vision and not be afraid to step out of their comfort zone.  There is no room for ignorance, power trips or egos in our organization or field of work; there is only room for decisions that have a mission to our future of drastic changes.

We are an advocacy of individuals whose purpose is to safeguard, listen, problem solve, hold the highest in confidentiality, equality and diversity while empowering, encouraging and educating a victim of sexual, emotional or physical abuse with minor or major trauma while completing their rehabilitation program with Protective Mother's Justice.  Our advocates and team are passionate about our mission, vision and purpose.

We will Advocate for our victims who are going through the court system, those who who have lost custody to DCS and those who have been through sex trafficking.

Protective Mother's Justice is not a group of men haters as we know that women are just as capable of being abusers as men are.  While Protective Mother's Justice is a Woman's based program, if a man of domestic violence has documented proof of violence we will gladly produce resources for his succession in help.
